Melissa

Melissa with royal blood in her veins, was once a great ruler. The people feared her and she was pleased with that, prefered it over being loved. But the cruel methods of those times reached even her one day, and the one she loved betrayed her. She will always remember the screaming crowd, hands dragging her by her diry arms.. but after that there is only a blank. She doesn't need to know. She will forever remain the queen, even though now of the dead.

Her ghost is doomed to walk the graves forever.. perhaps because she never had one. She knows that there is no other, no equal or above. But sometimes the fear of that day in the village, amongst all these cheering peasents catches up with her..

And she remembers his face, all the broken promises.. and the feeling of hatred from all these people.
And the longing for the time when she was the greatest ruler of them all..

Get Creative

Hey guys, check out how I transformed my old earrings! The stone on one of them was gone, so I wasn't wearing them. I saw a video on Youtube by Andreaschoice called "DIY Dip Dye Accessories" and was really inspired. Please go check out her channel, she's amazing! Anyways, I had lots of time on my hands and decided to grab my old jewellery and colour it. This post will be a tutorial on how I acheived this on my earrings, a bracelet and a necklace, enjoy!

You will need:

When you got your supplies ready, cover your surface with some paper. Afterwards, cut up the sponge in about 4 stripes. I later found that I only need half a strap for each colour, so I cut them up again and ended up with 8 peaces. When you get that far, you're pretty much ready to colour your stuff. If you have something that you only want partially dyed, tape up the rest like I did here:

Another Pro Tip: If you want different colours on one piece, you don't have to make marks on the jewellery itself. Simply lay it down and divide it in however many sections you want. Mark the sections on your paper and occasionally lay the piece against them to keep track. That way each colour gets about the same area on your accessory.

Okay, now you're all ready! Simply pour some nailpolish onto your sponge and dap it carefully on your accessory. Remember though: If you're doing an ombré- overlap of colours, do not start dabbing where the previous colour stops. For example, look at my bracelet- we have orange next to green. When the orange colour was layd down, I did not start with green at its edge. Start dabbing at the middle of the area, because that's when you have the most colour on your sponge. Basically, go from the middle outwards.
Also, if you have a fancy manicure that you don't want to ruin, you might want to wear some thin gloves. I got some tiny splashes of polish on my nails, for instance.

The finished products:

I painted the dots directly with the nailpolish brush. I also layed over a piece of cotton over the top and taped it. When I was done patting the sides, I took off the cotton-protection and repainted the edged the sponge didn't get to.

Light it up

So here is my "new" baby! I'm proud to present you the result of my little project. I've had this denimvest for many years.. First it was a jacket.. Then, I cut the sleeves off and made some holes. I did like it more that way, but was still kinda put off by the intense blue colour. Appearently, I always wanted it to be a neutral peace and as you can see, it was not. So, without further ado, here's how I bleached it:
You need: An open space. Do this on a balcony or in your backyard. A big garbage bag to protect the floor.
Rubber gloves.  Bleach and a spraybottle. (You can just fill a bucket and put your item in there, but I think that's wasteful)
Your denim piece. Shorts, a jacket or a vest.
So, after I layed down my garbage bag and filled the spraybottle, I put on a glove and got started. Another reason why I didn't use a bucket was that I wanted a certain transition. As you can see, the sides are slightly darker than the area around the buttons. I wanted those "lines" to be extra light, so I sprayed on more layers.
If you're going to use this method, be patient. Just cover the piece all over first, and then concentrate on cetain areas. Don't forget to turn it around, though, hehe. You're not going to see the effect until 15 min. have passed, so it's probably smart to take breaks inbetween the spraying. Just to see if it's enough.
When your item has the colour you want, throw it in the washingmachine on a pretty low teperature. That will stop the bleaching prosses and lock the colour in.
I hope this instruction was helpful and clear.. If you try it or have questions, please let me know in the comments! Thanks so much for stopping by.

After about 10 min. of constant spraying.
Sorry for the quality, mobile shot.. But here she is again & I'm wearing her all the time..
